Job Description
GNS Nanoelectronics and Nanophotonics is looking for a part-time undergraduate research assistant interested in the development of advanced power semiconductor devices. We are seeking a junior or senior undergraduate student in engineering or science who has an interest in computer-aided design, simulation, fabrication and/or characterization of advanced semiconductor devices. The position is available immediately and requires the individual to work for 8 up to 20 hours weekly. Experiences with Red Hat Linux, computer network setup, solid-state device physics, computer-aided design, simulation, fabrication and/or characterization is optional but highly desired. The individual is required to pay attentions to instruction and has the ability to work together with peers on a research and development team.
Qualification
• Junior or Senior undergraduates in electrical engineering, solid-state physics, materials science and engineering, computer science or other related field with a concentration in design, integration, fabrication and/or characterization of semiconductor devices.
• Good academic standing and US citizens (states & territories) or permanent residents are required.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, computer networking and computer-aided design, simulation, fabrication and/or characterization of semiconductor devices, such as Silvaco Athena process and Atlas device simulators, is optional but highly desired.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment and instruments is not required but a plus including oxidation/anneal furnaces, physical/chemical vapor deposition, photolithography tools, chemical mechanical polisher, IV/CV measurement tools, microstructural and profiling characterization tools etc.
